Nimbin Environment Centre is Nimbin's Eco Centre

We are a voluntary organization aimed at promoting environmental awareness.

The N.E.C is involved with many environmental campaigns on both a local and national level and has

played a supporting roll in many non-violent actions to protect rainforest, endangered species and fresh

water ways.

We also supply educational information to people of the local areas affected by these issues.

We continue to operate through funds raised by our shop and donations from concerned individuals.

Girad and Ewingar state forests are situated south west of Tabulam in upper NSW. Human Rights

Since the bombing of the twin towers many changes in our legal system have been made in the name of fear. Human rights are all that allow us as individuals to have a say in our government. We must not give in to terror by giving up our rights.

Proposed Dam at Byril Creek

The NEC has just recently been informed of a new project to create a large dam along the border of Mt Warning NP and into Mebbin. The dam area would spread from Mebbin camping ground to Pretty Gully where the dam wall would be situated. This would in affect cut the wildlife corridor from Mt Warning NP to the Border Ranges.
